A Week In Istanbul

We took an overnight train from Central Turkey to Istanbul. When we were in Kayakoy, a very kind and generous lady that we spent a bit time with offered us to stay in her home while we were in Istanbul. It was great! We had a place to stay, affordable and well-organized public transportation, and 7 days to take in as much as we possibly could.

Istanbul is BIG but surprisingly easy to get around if you’re not driving a car. We had learned just enough Turkish to be able to grab a bus, order a tea or coffee, go grocery shopping, and pay the bill. Luckily for us, English is the second language in Turkey so that helped us out a lot. We went out every day for a new adventure. There’s so much history to see and experience. We will have to return some day and spend more time.
